FFXIII-2 Serah Farron - Starseeker WIP by SyrupCookie FFXIII-2 Serah Farron - Starseeker WIP by SyrupCookie
EDIT: Read my FAQ journal about the Starseeker here: [link]

------------------------------------------------------------

Since I almost have her costume finished, I went on and made a start on Serah's weapon: Starseeker.

Before someone asks: Yes, it's made out of wood. mdf to be precisely. A few details are made of thin, but strong carton.

Most of it is cut out by a laser my boyfriend could do for free somewhere. Other larger parts (the blades and the base with the arrow) are sawed by my father-in-law.
Getting the exact form of the blades and arrow, I had to file a lot and my boyfriend sanded it afterwards for me.

As you can see, it will be transformable and we thought of adding something extra to it. But, I'm keeping that a secret until it's finished.
There's still a lot of work to do on it and I have to get it finished before the end of July.

More pictures probably coming soon, including my costume.

Be sure to take a look at my FB page: [link]

See the finished results with more info about the weapon here: [link]

hi, amazing work. I would love to make this one for my own cosplay too.
I looked at the blue print you mentioned in your FAQ journal.
I do have one question though, do you have a larger picture of the middle picture with all the separate pieces?

thank you

I've got a slight bigger picture here: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi…
I hope it helps. You can always hit the download button to make it larger yourself, but it get's a bit blurry that way.
PS: Don't forget to hit the like button :P

I do have an other question if it's alright.
in the FAQ journal you talked about the blueprint being changed for your length.
may I ask what the size of the sword is?
I put the blueprint in a word document and it said the picture was 3 by 2,5 meters or something

I altered it to my own size. I'm around 160 cm tall and the weapon is 110 cm tall so it's a difference of 50 cm.
I don't know if this helps you a little bit. You don't have to follow my size. You can make it as big or small you want ;)

thank you, this will help me a lot.
but maybe I'm gonna take a look if I can find a place with a lasercutter like you used.
though I'm afraid it's gonna be at a high price.

thank you so much for sharing this :)
